Where are you located?

We're located in Green Bay, Wisconsin, where every order is thoughtfully designed and crafted.

Who creates the products?

Stillground Works is a husband-and-wife business. Every product is created by us—from selecting materials and designing each piece to engraving, finishing, packaging, and shipping.

Can I pick up my order locally?

Yes. If you're local to the Green Bay area, we're happy to arrange a convenient pickup location. Please contact us before placing your order so we can coordinate pickup and provide the appropriate ordering instructions.

Why did you choose the name Stillground Works?

The name reflects our belief that home should feel grounded, peaceful, and lasting. We're inspired by quiet places, natural materials, and creating meaningful pieces that feel at home in everyday life.

Ordering & Personalization

Can I personalize my order?

Yes. Many of our products can be customized with names, dates, meaningful words, or other details. Personalization options are listed on each product page. If you have a special request, feel free to contact us—we're always happy to discuss custom ideas.

What if I make a mistake when entering my personalization?

We personalize your order using the information you provide during checkout. Please double-check names, dates, and spelling before submitting your order.

If you notice a mistake after placing your order, contact us as soon as possible. We'll do our best to make corrections before production begins.

Can I see a proof before my item is made?

For products that include a custom layout or design, we're happy to provide a proof when requested or when it's needed to ensure accuracy.

Can you create a completely custom design?

Absolutely. We enjoy creating one-of-a-kind pieces for weddings, anniversaries, memorials, businesses, and other special occasions. Contact us with your ideas, and we'll let you know what's possible.

Can I make changes after I place my order?

If you need to make a change, please contact us as soon as possible. Once production has begun, changes may not be possible.

Materials

What type of wood do you use?

We primarily work with premium Baltic birch because of its strength, stability, beautiful natural appearance, and excellent engraving quality. Depending on the product, we also use hardwoods such as walnut, oak, and maple, carefully selecting the material that best complements each design.

Will my wood piece look exactly like the photos?

No—and that's one of the things that makes handcrafted wood products special. Every piece of wood has its own natural grain, color, and character, making each item truly one of a kind.

Are knots and grain variations normal?

Yes. Natural grain patterns, color variations, mineral streaks, and other natural characteristics are part of real wood. Rather than flaws, they make every handcrafted piece unique.

Production

How are your products made?

Our products are designed, laser cut, engraved, assembled, finished, and carefully packaged in our Green Bay, Wisconsin workshop. Many pieces are completed by hand to ensure the finished product meets our quality standards.

How long does it take to make my order?

Most personalized orders are completed within the processing time listed on each product page. Production times may vary during the holiday season or for larger custom orders.

Are all of your products handmade?

Every product is thoughtfully designed and carefully crafted by us. While we use professional laser engraving and cutting equipment for precision, each piece is finished, assembled, inspected, and packaged by hand in our workshop.

Shipping

How long does shipping take?

Shipping times depend on your location and the shipping method selected during checkout. Once your order ships, you'll receive tracking information by email.

Do you ship throughout the United States?

Yes. We currently ship throughout the United States.

How are items packaged?

Every order is carefully packaged to help protect it during shipping. We package every product with the same care and attention that goes into making it.

Do you offer gift shipping?

Yes. You may ship your order directly to the gift recipient by entering their shipping address during checkout.

Product Care

How should I care for my wood sign or ornament?

Dust with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid excessive moisture, prolonged direct sunlight, and extreme humidity to help preserve your piece for years to come.

Can your signs be displayed outdoors?

Most of our wood products are designed for indoor use unless otherwise noted on the product page.

Will my wood product change over time?

Wood is a natural material and may develop subtle changes in color or character over time. These natural changes are part of what makes real wood beautiful and unique.

Gifts

Do your products make good gifts?

Absolutely. Many of our customers purchase our products for weddings, anniversaries, new homes, babies, memorials, birthdays, Christmas, Mother's Day, Father's Day, and many other meaningful occasions.

Can I send a gift directly to someone else?

Yes. Simply enter the recipient's shipping address during checkout.

Do you include pricing in gift shipments?

No. We do not include pricing information in the package, making it easy to send your order directly as a gift.

Technology & Design

Do you use AI to create your artwork and designs?

Our wildlife and landscape photography is always our own, captured during our travels and time spent outdoors.

For some non-photographic artwork and engraved designs, we may use AI as one of several creative tools during the design process. AI can help us explore ideas or refine concepts, but every design is carefully reviewed, edited, and prepared for production by us. Many pieces also include our own original artwork, illustrations, or design elements.

Whether we're creating a photograph, personalized sign, engraved keepsake, or decorative artwork, every finished product reflects our own creative direction, craftsmanship, and commitment to quality before it leaves our Green Bay, Wisconsin workshop.

Why do you use laser engraving?

Laser engraving allows us to produce crisp details, precise cuts, and consistent results while preserving the natural beauty of the wood. It combines modern precision with handcrafted finishing to create products designed to last.

Returns & Exchanges

Do you accept returns or exchanges?

Because personalized products are created specifically for you, we generally cannot accept returns or exchanges due to customer-provided personalization errors or changes of mind.
